Frankfurt Book Fair

About the project

The Frankfurt Book Fair is one of the largest and most influential international book fairs in the world, held annually, usually in October, in the German city of Frankfurt. The event encompasses centuries of history and today represents one of the most significant international platforms for the book industry, gathering publishers, authors, literary agents, translators, book distributors, cultural representatives, and media professionals from around the world.

The main goal of the Frankfurt Book Fair is to promote international publishing cooperation, develop trade in books and copyrights, popularize the literature of various countries, and establish new partnerships among professionals in the book industry. The fair serves as an important space for presenting new publications, exchanging copyrights, promoting translations, and strengthening literary connections.

The Georgian Book Association and its member organizations traditionally participate annually in the Frankfurt Book Fair. Within the framework of Georgia's collective stand, Georgian publishers introduce the local publishing sector, Georgian literature, contemporary authors, translations, and new publications to an international audience.

Participation in Frankfurt is an important opportunity for the Georgian book industry to position itself in the international market, to strengthen collaboration with foreign publishers, literary agents, and other professional networks. Participation also promotes the growth of opportunities for translating Georgian books into foreign languages and their international distribution.

Book Fairs in the Regions of Georgia

About the project

The Georgian Book Association periodically organizes book fairs in various regions of Georgia, aimed at promoting the culture of books and reading, increasing the accessibility of books, and supporting literary processes in local communities.

Regional book fairs create opportunities for readers of different ages and interests to directly familiarize themselves with contemporary Georgian and foreign literature, meet publishers and representatives of the book sector, and participate in cultural and educational activities.

Within the framework of the fairs, a book exhibition-sale is held, showcasing publications of various genres and themes, as well as meetings with authors, presentations of new books, literary events, discussions, children's workshops, and creative activities.

By organizing book fairs in the regions, the Georgian Book Association facilitates the rapprochement of representatives of the book industry and local readers, supports the development of local cultural spaces, and creates opportunities for books and literary experiences to become more accessible to people living in various cities of Georgia.
